Mutation Rankings

Mutation is the first axis on the tier list hub. If you only remember one ranking rule in Defeat Anime RNG, remember this: a mutated copy is not the same unit as a plain copy, even when the face looks related. Rarity, Powers, and merge level all matter. None of them outrank a mutation you already own.

This page ranks mutation value, explains the Genius branch on Kobeni, and draws a hard line under Powers. Power Angelic and Power Blossom come from codes. They are assigned loadout modifiers. They are not mutations. Mixing those words is how people merge the wrong body.

Why mutation sits above rarity

Rarity is a roll odds story. Official thumbnails sell 1 in 2 / ~5 DPS against 1 in 999,999,999 / ~100M DPS. That gap is huge, and rarity odds exist so you spend luck potions on purpose. Mutation is a different flag. It is a variant on a fighter you already have, with extra combat power the live index will show you.

If you eat a mutated copy into a higher-rarity plain copy, you spent the top axis to chase the second axis. You can roll rarity again. You cannot paste a Genius tag back on after the merge window closes. That is why unit rankings call every mutated body a keeper until you own a strictly better mutated body.

On six-player waves, mutation also changes how you fill slots. One mutated keeper plus fodder will outpace three plain mid-rolls that split Trait Shards. Bosses punish the same mistake: the health bar cares about the live index on the copy you sent, not about how many faces sit in the inventory panel.

Genius branch for Kobeni

The only mutation branch this wiki treats as a named, confirmed drop is Genius Mutated Kobeni. The Chainsaw code grants that copy after you unlock Death Castle for 450K Coins. It is a ranking event, not a cosmetic.

Treat Genius as a protected branch:

  • Do not merge Genius Mutated Kobeni into a non-mutated Kobeni “to tidy the roster.”
  • Do not merge Genius Mutated Kobeni into a higher-rarity anime-inspired fighter that has no mutation.
  • Do merge plain duplicates into the Genius copy if the live game allows that direction and the Genius tag survives. If a merge preview would strip Genius, cancel.
  • Do park food, Trait Shards, and XP potions on that branch once Death Castle is open.

If Chainsaw is still locked, you do not have a Genius problem yet. You have a Coin problem. Push waves and bosses until the zone opens, then redeem every string on the codes list in one sitting. bugfix, Bugfixes1, Update3, micropatch1, UpdateTwo, and Release feed shards and potions. Chainsaw feeds the mutation.

This wiki does not invent other mutation names. If the live game shows a different mutation tag on an anime-inspired fighter, apply the same rule: the tag outranks rarity, the tagged copy is a keeper, and the live index decides which tagged copy sits in slot one.

Powers Angelic and Blossom are not mutations

Two codes grant Powers, not mutated units:

CodeWhat it actually grants
EvangelionPower Angelic
BlossomPower Blossom
ChainsawGenius Mutated Kobeni (mutation, not a Power)

Power Angelic and Power Blossom are assigned modifiers. You choose a body and you park the Power there. They sit third on the ranking stack, under mutation and rarity, above merge level. They are valuable. They are not a Genius tag.

Practical rules:

  • Put a Power on a keeper you already intend to main, usually the mutated copy or the highest-rarity copy you are feeding.
  • Do not put a Power on a 5 DPS common you plan to eat in ten minutes.
  • Do not delete a mutated copy because it lacks a Power. You can assign a Power later. You cannot assign a mutation.
  • If Kobeni is your main, Angelic or Blossom belongs on Genius Mutated Kobeni, not on a plain duplicate.

Themed code names (Chainsaw, Evangelion, Blossom) describe the drop flavor. They are not published patch notes that add a licensed roster. See the named changelog for what we can confirm from strings versus what we refuse to invent.

How luck interacts with mutations

Luck potions from UpdateTwo and Release, plus extra luck from liking the Roblox experience and joining the Defeat Anime Bosses group, change the chance of rare animes and mutations on a roll session. They do not change the ranking order after the roll. Drink potions when you are about to spend a large Coin stack, not while you idle in a six-player lobby.

If a mutation drops on a low-rarity body, keep the mutation. That copy is still a keeper. Feed it. Compare live DPS against your highest plain rare. Many accounts will find the mutated mid-roll wins until an ultra-rare also mutates.

Merge previews and the expensive click

Always read the merge preview. The incremental loop wants you to click fast. The ranking stack wants you to click once. If the result would be a higher level with no mutation tag, you just sold the first axis for the fourth. Cancel, swap the parent, and try the direction that keeps Genius (or whatever tag the live game shows).

Team building is where this becomes a wave versus boss plan: mutated keepers in the slots that actually fight, fodder in the merge queue, Powers on the mains, shards on one branch. The units hub is the collection view if you are still sorting what you own. The beginner guide is the first-hour path if Death Castle is still closed.

New mutation-looking strings belong in Discord and then on codes. This page will add a named branch when a code or a dated update confirms it. Until then, rank the tag you can see, not a list we guessed.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, merges, bosses, and Death Castle.

Do mutations outrank rarity in Defeat Anime RNG?

Yes. Mutation is the first axis on the tier list hub. A tagged copy is a keeper even if a plain ultra-rare looks shinier on the thumbnail.

What is the Genius branch on Kobeni?

Genius Mutated Kobeni is the copy granted by `Chainsaw` after Death Castle. Protect that branch. Redeem it from the codes list and do not merge it into a plain unit.

Are Power Angelic and Power Blossom mutations?

No. `Evangelion` and `Blossom` grant Powers, which sit third on the stack. Park them on a keeper. Unit rankings explain which body should receive them.

Should I mutate-chase with luck potions?

Drink luck potions when you are about to roll a large Coin stack, after you like the experience and join the group. Rarity odds cover potions and 1-in-X art.

What if a merge preview strips the mutation?

Cancel. Keep the tagged parent. Team building shows how to feed one branch without spreading Trait Shards.
