Defeat Anime RNG Team Building
Fill slots for waves and bosses, merge into keepers, and stop spreading Trait Shards across fodder.
Team building in Defeat Anime RNG is a merge plan with a fight overlay. You play on six-player Roblox servers, but the roster is yours. Waves want enough live DPS to keep Coins moving. Bosses want the highest live index you are willing to keep feeding. Both fail when Trait Shards and duplicates are spread across every anime-inspired fighter from the first session.
Use the ranking stack from the tier list hub: mutation, rarity, assigned Power, merge level. Then fill slots. This page is the featured how-to under the units hub.
Pick the keepers before you pick the slots
You cannot build a team until you know which copies are allowed to live.
- Mutated copies first. Genius Mutated Kobeni from
Chainsawis a locked keeper after Death Castle. Any other mutation tag the live game shows is a keeper too. See mutation rankings. - Rarity second. A 1 in 999,999,999 pitch (~100 million DPS on the art) outranks a 1 in 2 pitch (~5 DPS) at the same investment. Details on rarity odds.
- Powers third. Park Power Angelic (
Evangelion) and Power Blossom (Blossom) on the body you will still own next week. - Merge last. One fed copy beats six hungry copies. The Level 1 versus Level 999 thumbnail is the reminder.
Everything else is food. Food still appears in the inventory. Food does not get shards.
Waves versus bosses
Waves are the Coin engine. Early zones, including the road to Death Castle at 450K Coins, are wave and boss loops that pay the gate on codes. For waves, you want:
- At least one keeper that is actually leveled, even if it is “only” a mid-roll, so the wave does not stall.
- Extra bodies that can stand in slots without receiving shards. Commons billed at ~5 DPS are fine here if they are already in the account.
- No potion panic. Luck potions belong on roll sessions, not on every wave clear.
Bosses are the check. A boss that does not die is a merge problem or a rarity problem, not a “I need six different faces” problem. For bosses, you want:
- The highest live-index keeper in the slot that actually fights.
- Mutation on that keeper if you have it.
- A Power on that keeper if you have Angelic or Blossom.
- A queue of duplicates ready to merge into that keeper between attempts.
Do not rebuild the whole team after one failed boss. Feed the main. If a true ultra-rare lands, park it, redirect food, and let the live index pass the old main. Unit rankings walk that swap.
On a six-player server, other people can damage the same boss. That is not a reason to leave your roster as six Level 1 commons. Their Kobeni does not show up in your inventory. Your Coins still have to buy your rolls.
Merge focus: one branch, not a committee
The expensive habit is democracy. Six copies each get a few merges and a few Trait Shards “so the team is balanced.” The live index on each copy stays small. Waves slow down. The 450K gate stays closed. Codes stay locked. You never see Genius Mutated Kobeni.
Do this instead:
- Choose one merge parent per rarity band you actually use. Usually that is “the mutated copy” or “the best rare I have.”
- Merge duplicates into that parent. If a preview would strip a mutation, cancel and swap direction. The mutation rankings page exists for that click.
- Spend Trait Shards on that parent only. Shard codes (
bugfix,Bugfixes1,Update3,micropatch1,UpdateTwo,Release) add up. They are wasted on a common you will eat after the next ultra-rare. - Leave leftover commons in slots if you need bodies for waves, but do not invest in them.
XP potions from Release follow the same rule: the keeper drinks, fodder does not.
How Kobeni and Powers sit on a team
After Death Castle, redeem working codes before you lock a team identity.
- Genius Mutated Kobeni is slot-one material until a better mutated copy exists. Build the team around feeding that branch.
- Power Angelic and Power Blossom are not extra teammates. They are modifiers. Assign one to Kobeni if Kobeni is the main. Assign them to your highest-rarity keeper if
Chainsawhas not landed yet. - Do not open a second “main” just because a themed code name sounded like a new licensed character. Themed strings are drops, not a roster expansion we can document without patch notes. See the named changelog.
If Death Castle is still closed, your team is a Coin team. Merge a single early keeper, clear waves, kill bosses, like the experience, join the Defeat Anime Bosses group for extra luck, and stop buying random upgrades with shards you do not have. The beginner guide is the first-hour script.
A simple session checklist
- Look at mutation tags. Those copies cannot be food.
- Look at live DPS. Sort keepers. Fill fight slots from the top.
- Park Powers on the copy you will feed this session.
- Merge duplicates into that copy until the preview would destroy a better tag.
- Roll only when Coins are a stack and luck potions plus group luck are on.
- After a patch, reread the updates hub in case the live index moved. Then keep the same team rules.
If a new string in the Discord grants a unit, it can change slot one. If it grants shards or potions, it only changes how fast you execute the plan you already have. Do not spread the new shards either.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, merges, bosses, and Death Castle.
Should waves and bosses use different Defeat Anime RNG teams?
Same keepers, different patience. Waves can hold leftover commons in extra slots. Bosses want the highest live-index keeper you are feeding. Rank those keepers on the tier list hub.
Why is spreading Trait Shards so bad?
Shards on six mid copies delay Death Castle and leave every slot weak. Put them on one parent. Unit rankings define which parent is allowed to live.
Where does Genius Mutated Kobeni go on a team?
Slot one until a better mutated copy exists. Redeem `Chainsaw` from the codes list after 450K Coins and protect the branch on mutation rankings.
Do I need luck potions to build a team?
No. Potions change rolls, not merge focus. Drink them before a Coin stack. Rarity odds explain 1-in-X art and group luck.
Can teammates on a six-player server fill my slots?
No. Units are account-bound. You still need a roster plan from the units hub even if a friend already has an ultra-rare.
